Back in February 1985, a small bank dedicated to knowing their customers while providing a full array of banking products and services began serving the West Houston and Greater Katy Area. Preferred Bank opened in 1985 from a single location at 11757 Katy Freeway, between Dairy Ashford and Kirkwood.

From the beginning, this Houston-owned and operated bank catered to individuals and small to mid-size businesses who wanted all the services of a “big bank” without the hassles. These two full-service branches quickly attracted the same individuals and businesses who were looking for a bank that placed their customers first.

We celebrated the opening of two new locations in 2007. The Conroe location opened in January 2007 and The Woodlands branch opened in September 2007.

Today, Preferred Bank has assets of over $200 million. While other independent banks that started in the mid-80’s have failed, or have been acquired or merged, Preferred Bank is proud to remain a strong and independently owned bank.
